We'd like to remind you that the usrmerge transition will resume on Monday, March 31st, beginning at 8:30 AM US EST. Our goal is to complete transitions for both /usr/sbin and /lib on the same day to minimize the overall impact.
For continued updates, please follow our dedicated article.
Please note that this may be subject to change should there be any unforeseen circumstances outside of our control. We will communicate with you promptly should this be the case.
How This Impacts You:
We anticipate the transition activities to span the entire day. In most use cases, we don’t expect any impact to you while the transition is in progress. During this time, we kindly request you refrain from triggering automated image builds to prevent potential conflicts or issues due to edge cases, as outlined in our Mitigation Strategy for usrmerge article.
What to Expect:
The transition will follow these phases, starting at 8:30 AM US EST:
- Phase 1: Transition for /usr/sbin
- Phase 2: Transition for /lib
- Phase 3: Verification with a select group of private images.
- Phase 4: Nightly automated image builds will continue the rebuild of remaining images, as scheduled.
- Upgrade completed: Update is sent to customers via our dedicated article.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work diligently to ensure a seamless transition.
