Q&A
Q. Will the free images that I am currently using today cease to function after November 21, 2024?
If you have downloaded a copy of an image that is free today, it will continue to function after November 21, 2024. However, those copies will not be downloadable from Chainguard after that date, and they will also naturally start to accumulate security vulnerabilities (CVEs). You may continue to download current versions (a/k/a “latest”) of certain images (the ones documented above) after November 21, 2024.
Q. I am using some free images and I do not already have a commercial relationship with Chainguard. How will I be impacted?
The free images you have previously downloaded will continue to function after November 21, 2024. However, if you want to continue receiving version and security updates for those images, please contact us to discuss your options.
Q. I have a commercial relationship with Chainguard today, but it does not cover some of the free images I am currently using. What should I do?
Please contact your Chainguard customer success manager to discuss your options for these images.
Q. We are an open-source project that uses Chainguard Developer Images, including some that will not be available after November 21, 2024. What should I do to continue using these?
Please contact us to discuss your options for continuing to use these images.
